The Rising Price of Chinese Antique Vases
The prices of Chinese antique vases have risen significantly in the last decade. The reason behind this is quite simple to explain. First, the quality behind antique Chinese porcelain is very high. The craftsmen that made this antique Chinese porcelain have taken years, if not decades, for them to perfect their craft. Second, the rarity of these antiques makes them truly a collectible item, most especially since these antiques themselves have been made in short supply. This means that the high price they fetch is not surprising. In fact, antique vases from the Ming Dynasty, currently more than 500 years old, are made with such high quality that some of their fragile porcelains have survived until this day.

If you are one of the few who has ownership to an Antique Chinese Vase that is more than 500 years old, chances are it will have at least some cracks or damage in it. However, if you have it in near mint condition, you would be amazed just how much that vase of yours is worth.
Most antique porcelain from China that is over 500 years old and is near perfect condition will be worth a whole lot. If you see the current stature of China these days with all its wealthy merchants and businessmen, it is not difficult to see why antiques from China are becoming truly valuable. The rarer the item is, the more likely there will be high bidders for that item.
If you are a collector, it is important to remember to purchase Chinese antique vases only from reputable stores. This is because there is currently a black market for counterfeits that are hard to identify. In fact, these counterfeits are made so well that even some experts of reputable auction houses are having a hard time distinguishing them. You would not want to purchase a fake for the price of the real thing, would you?
